The official website of stage productions by Karen Sokolof Javitch
Premiered Tuesday November 28 in Hollywood!
The stage production of
"Rachel & Ruthie"!
Cast:
Casey Sartori
"Rachel"
Casey Sartori is a New York native who recently moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film and television. Finding her passion early, Casey walked in the local theater circuit in her youth, slowly working her way out of ensemble to play roles like the Wicked Witch of the West in a stage production of The Wizard of Oz and the titular role of Peter Pan. She is very grateful for the opportunity to return to the stage after an almost decade hiatus, and is particularly thankful to be working alongside such wonderful people. This performance is dedicated to the person she admires most in her family —
her grandma and her guardian angel, Kathleen.
Perry Goeders
"Ruthie"
Perry is a Calarts trained actress with a special passion for the stage. She has performed internationally at The Fringe Festival and at UNAM in Mexico City. Perry has a deep love for comedy and enjoys engaging an audience through storytelling. This is her first show with Hang On To The Dream, and she is thrilled to be taking the stage as "Ruthie"!
Karen Sokolof Javitch
Playwright
A former teacher of the visually impaired, Karen stayed at home with her children until they started school. At that point, her background in piano, singing, and dancing led her to an exciting career in songwriting. She has produced several outstanding stage productions, including "Princess Diana The Musical", the first stage musical in the world to be produced honoring the beloved princess.
Christopher Ewing
Director
Christopher is an Emmy Award winning TV Host and syndicated television producer, with acting credits that include "All My Children" (ABC), "One Life to Live" (ABC), and countless radio and TV commercials. He won his Emmy for a kids television show, "Hang On to the Dream", and in 2004, following the success of the show, created the Hang On to the Dream Foundation to help kids around the country reach their goals in life. Christopher says "I'm a HUGE fan of Karen's productions. She is an outstanding composer and playwright, and I'm thrilled to be directing "Rachel & Ruthie" with such incredibly talented actresses. I absolutely love this play and I feel honored to be a part of it!"
